London Boat Show, 5th to 14th January Sonas Marine attended the London Boat Show on the Pearl and Four Winns Stands. On the Pearl stand the new Pearl 50 was available for viewing. This was the very same boat tested by Motor Boats and Yachting in the January 2007 edition. MBY hailed the new P50 as ‘the most up-to-date, stylish, aft-cabin 50-footer around’, with ‘no obvious rivals’. On the Four Winns stand there was an extensive range of bow-riders and sports cruisers. While footfall numbers at Excel were down on previous years the number of boats sold by many manufacturers was up. The number of deposits taken for various Four Winns models was up while there was a great deal of interest in the Pearl 50. Potential buyers and customers for Sunseeker, Azimut, Sealine, Princess and Fairline had to reconsider their choice after viewing the Pearl 50. Many are holding off on their purchase to sea trial the P50 and view the Pearl 60 at the Dublin Boat Show. The London Show has certainly given Sonas Marine a good boost to the start of the year. In addition, we will have some of our larger cruisers at the Dublin Docklands Development Pontoon beside the IFSC. From the Italian yard, Absolute, we will have the ground breaking Absolute 45 (MBY, Jan 2006), the Absolute 39 (MBM, Nov 2005) and the stylish Absolute 41. New Stock for 2007 In the last month, we have invested over €2m in stock boats this winter for sale in early 2007 and are planning further investment into the new year. We have been very selective with the stock purchased. We only offer the best in class products to our clients and we personally test each boat that we consider. If we wouldn't buy it ourselves, then we won't sell it to our clients. We currently have a wide range of Chris-Craft and Four Winns models in stock, with more ordered for early 2007. From Pearl we have the award winning Pearl 60 Motor Yacht available for viewing at Malahide. The latest stock boat that Sonas have ordered is the Absolute 45. After testing the Absolute 45 in trying conditions with wind over tide in the Solent, Director, David Jones, was most impressed with the sea keeping capabilities. 'This is one of the most fun boats I have ever driven. She handles like a finely tuned sports boat and is very responsive, but with the luxury and presence of a substantial offshore cruiser'. We liked the model so much we ordered one immediately as our first Absolute stock boat. After testing a number of other sportsboats in the market, we have total confidence that the new Absolute 45 is the best in class. She is surprisingly stable for twin out-drives and blows the shaft driven competition out of the water. Our new Absolute will arrive in Dublin in time for the Dublin Boat Show.
